DVF for Gap Kids

El presidente herself (of the CFDA, of course) is doing a collaboration with Gap Kids set to launch mid-March. I don't think I've ever been so envious of a six year old. Can the blue dress come in my size? Pretty please?

Seriously though, watch the video on gap.com, and try to contain your jealousy.

Flower Power

Florals? For spring. Groundbreaking. The devil may not be a fan of blooms and buds, but that never stopped me. I've had enough of New York's so-called mild winter, and I'm fantasizing about flowers. More specifically, florals for spring. Here are just a few prints I have my eye on:

Rebecca Minkoff Fall/Winter 2012

You never know when you're gonna get called up to the big leagues. This season I thought my one fashion week event was going to be the With & Wessel presentation I posted about last week. Little did I know I'd be heading to the Rebecca Minkoff runway show at Lincoln Center.

Last Friday, my boss asked if I had finished my work for the following Monday. I had, and no more than 10 minutes later, I was in a cab heading cross town to New York Fashion Week.

The show opened with a performance by Theophilus London. The rapper provided the soundtrack for the show, and it was quite the concert. Minkoff's collection featured muted jewel tones with no dominant color palette and a variety of textured fabrics (I loved the pieced leather dress, still not sure about the fur t-shirt). Models carried structured handbags and sported messy up-dos and ombre eyeshadow.

And I loved every minute of it, even if I was vastly under dressed in my casual Friday garb. Lesson learned: dress every day like you're going to a fashion show.

Be sure to click over to DailyCandy's Tumblr to read my mini-review of the show.

With & Wessel Fall/Winter 2012

Last night, With & Wessel presented their Fall/Winter 2012 collection at the Norwegian Consulate in New York. The brand's comfy-chic staples and boyish lingerie are perfect for layering, and they're so thin and soft, I can hardly believe they're made of wool. Muted shades of brown, blue, and gray dominated the collection, but pops of tangerine kept things interesting.

If you're in the market for unique basics, definitely check out the brand's website here. Everything right now is 50% off for their winter sale.

And if you ever have the chance to visit the Norwegian Consulate's home, take it. The view of Manhattan from her roof is amazing.

Jason Wu for Target

The wait is over--Jason Wu for Target is here! That being said, if you blink you might miss it. The collection is largely sold out both in stores and online, and prices are skyrocketing on ebay with close to 11,000 listings coming up under the collaboration's name.

I had every intention of booking it out to Brooklyn yesterday to scope out the selection first hand. Unfortunately the snooze button on my alarm got the best of me. By the time I even clicked over to Target.com, everything I wanted was out of stock in my size.

I did manage to snag the coveted blue poplin dress when Target announced via Twitter that several items would be restocked. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it fits, and that it ships.

But after my experience with Missoni for Target, I'm waiting until the dress is in my hands until I give my final verdict on the collaboration.

Readers, did you shop Jason Wu for Target? Are you scouring ebay right now? Maybe the cat tote will come back in stock online!

Taste Test: Schnipper's

Sometimes all the leafy greens in the world just won't satisfy. That's when I treat myself to a dinner of chicken fingers, fries, and a milk shake from Schnipper's. The 8th Ave. mainstay recently opened a new location in my neck of the woods, and I'm a fan. I might go so far as to say they have the best chocolate milkshake in the city.

PS Do you watch Parks and Rec? If not, you must watch this video. You'll be an instant convert.
